RENTAL ECONOMICS

The build-vs-rent case.

~80% lower

48hrs

0idle days
Billed — pay for the survey window,

Typical outcome: a 3-week exploration block that would tie up ₹80L+ in owned hardware, calibration staff, and storage between campaigns is run instead for the survey window only — calibrated, insured, and returned, with the budget going into flying more blocks instead of depreciating equipment.

// TWO WAYS TO SURVEY

Airborne or ground reference — rent one, or both.

Every survey needs a base station for diurnal correction. Most exploration campaigns rent the pair together.

Base Station

Stationary magnetic base station for diurnal correction — logs continuously through every airborne mission on the block.

What's not in the day rate: international/domestic shipping, cargo insurance, customs duties, import permits, and destination-country flight permissions are quoted separately based on origin, destination, and hire length. We handle the paperwork — you approve the landed cost before dispatch.

// GLOBAL DELIVERY

One rental desk, dispatched to any country.

We've shipped survey-grade magnetometers into India and East Africa. The same desk handles new destinations on request.

01

Scope the block

Send us the geology, target type, and destination country — we return a survey plan and landed-cost estimate.

02

Export & permits

We prepare export documentation, carnet where applicable, and coordinate import permissions at destination.

03

Insured transit

Equipment ships under cargo insurance sized to replacement value — quoted and confirmed before dispatch.

04

On-ground support

A Flybi engineer is reachable for setup and troubleshooting for the duration of the hire, wherever you're flying.

// WHY RENT FROM FLYBI

Same engineering discipline we hold for our own surveys.

/01

Calibrated on dispatch

Every magnetometer is bench-tested and calibration-certified before it leaves our facility — not on arrival at your site.

/02

Airborne + base station pairing

Rent both together and every mission gets diurnal correction from day one — no separate sourcing.

/03

Engineer on call

A Flybi engineer supports setup, in-field troubleshooting, and data sanity checks for the length of your hire.

/04

Transparent landed cost

Day rate, shipping, insurance, and duties are itemized separately — no bundled markup hidden in the quote.

/05

Fleet redundancy

Project and monthly hires include swap-in units on standby, so a hardware fault never stalls your survey window.

/06

Regulatory handling

Export documentation, carnets, and destination flight permissions are handled by our team, not left to yours.

FLYBI VS ALTERNATIVES

Why an exploration manager rents from Flybi.

Flybi delivers

  • A calibration-certified unit, ready to fly on arrival — not calibrated on your site
  • Airborne and base station paired and synchronized from the same rental, not sourced separately
  • Itemized landed cost — day rate, shipping, insurance, and duties broken out, not bundled
  • A Flybi engineer on call for the length of the hire, not a support ticket queue
  • Swap unit dispatched within 24 hours of a reported fault — no lost survey window

Most alternatives ship

  • A bare instrument and a separate calibration bill before you can fly
  • Airborne and base station from different vendors — sync and clock-drift issues on you to resolve
  • A single bundled quote with shipping and insurance markup buried inside
  • Email support with multi-day response times on a fixed-term hire
  • No standby unit — a hardware fault stalls the survey until a replacement arrives
// ANSWERS

What teams ask before renting.

What's the difference between the airborne and base station unit?

The airborne magnetometer mounts to a drone and flies the survey grid, capturing the total-field reading along each flight line. The base station stays fixed on the ground at a magnetically clean site and logs continuously — its data is used to strip out diurnal (time-of-day) variation from the airborne readings. You need both for a corrected, exploration-grade dataset.

Does the ₹1,00,000/day rate include shipping and insurance?

No. The day rate covers the calibrated instrument, mounting kit, and engineering support. Shipping, cargo insurance, customs duties, and import permits are quoted separately based on your destination country and hire length — we itemize these before you confirm.

Can you ship to any country?

We've delivered into India and East Africa to date, and can scope new destinations on request. Export documentation, carnet handling, and destination-specific flight permissions are part of the engagement.

Do I need to rent the base station if I already have one?

No — if you have a compatible base station generating synchronized diurnal data, you can rent the airborne unit alone. We'll confirm compatibility during scoping.

What happens if the instrument is damaged in transit or in the field?

Cargo insurance covers transit damage at replacement value. In-field damage is covered under the rental agreement terms, reviewed at scoping — ask your account contact for the specific policy on your hire.

Tell us the block and the destination. We'll send back a landed cost.
